Publication date 3 Jan 2025
On the 17th of November 2024, the networking event “Bioconversion for the valorisation of quality by-products and the production of animal feed and fertilisers” was promoted by ITABIA, facilitators of the Marche Hub of the RuralBioUp project, within the event organised for the final conference of the BSFlyGreen project, coordinated by the Department of Agricultural Food and Environmental Sciences of the Marche Polytechnic University. This networking action had two priority objectives: 1) make the RuralBioUp project known to new stakeholders; 2) inform the stakeholders of the Marche Hub on the important topic of new animal protein sources.
The event disclosed the outcomes of the BSFlyGreen project, which aims to insert insect farming into a pre-existing agro-industrial chain (frozen vegetables) and the production of biogas-biomethane from the anaerobic digestion of the residual biomass generated. In this workshop, the RuralBioUp Project played a leading role, with the role of the opening speech for the networking among local stakeholders and the activation of synergies between different regional, national and European projects related to the circular bioeconomy.
